Find the accredited municipality or inspection agency serving the property.
Have a certified private sewage contractor assess the site and prepare the system design.
Obtain the private sewage permit before installation.
Complete the required inspections and retain the permit and inspection records.
Important requirementPermit applications received from November 1, 2022 onward must meet the Alberta Private Sewage Systems Standard of Practice 2021. Municipal development rules and other approvals may also apply.
